The 2014 Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute’s Annual Conference is on March 13 and 14, 2014, at the University of Denver.  This year’s conference is entitled Moving Beyond Recession: What’s Next? and this year’s keynote address will be by former Secretary of Interior, Ken Salazar.

Dominic will be speaking twice at the conference, first on Wednesday, at an all-day workshop called “The Dynamics of the Land Use Case,” which will focus on the basics of land use law by dissecting the typical land use development case.  Dominic will be serving on a panel of land use experts to provide an understating of how the land use development process is supposed to work and the factors that influence the outcome.

Second, Dominic will be speaking on Friday afternoon at a session entitled “Getting to Kum Ba Yah: Why Can’t Private and Public Sector Planners Just Get Along”?  This session will focus on:  Why do public and private sector planners find themselves arm-wrestling throughout the development review and approval process— and what can be done about it? This session will review common sources of misunderstanding about what codes say and how review procedures are supposed to work, and what can be done to reduce and resolve issues between public and private sector planners.

RMLUI’s Annual Land Use Conference is the place for land use and development professionals in the West to share knowledge and network. With more than 400 attendees annually, RMLUI’s conference helps define and influence the West’s land use and development future.
